Introducing the bettercoach podcast

In the bettercoach podcast, we shed light on what coaching does for people – and in our first episode, we had the privilege to follow the journey of a real-life coach and coachee couple. Packed with honest stories and useful tips for anyone interested in personal growth through coaching. Whether you’re a coach or just curious about personal growth, there’s something here for you.

What is it like to transition from the social sector to the corporate world? What challenges, both professional and personal, does one face when becoming an entrepreneur? Why is leading oneself the first step before leading others? How can trusting yourself be the key to trusting others? And what role does coaching play in individual and professional growth?

In our first episode, we met Claire, an international educator turned entrepreneur, and Ellen, her systemic coach and business consultant, for an up-close and personal conversation.

Meet our guests

Claire Doyle
You remember back in school most of us had that one teacher who was so passionate that they made a true impact on your life? Chances are that Claire could have been just that teacher. Born in the US, the international educator lived and taught across the globe from Spain, Thailand to the Netherlands where she currently resides. At one pivotal point in her career Claire discovered her purpose and had to choose between social entrepreneurship and teaching. Today Claire is a global advocate for families to have access to affordable and quality early childhood education around the world.

Ellen Herb
Being engaged wholeheartedly in quite about everything human, a grandmaster of empathy and connecting with others are a few things that come to mind when describing  Ellen Herb. Ellen has been working as a systemic coach and business consultant, dedicated to leadership and personal development, for over a decade. In her words, developing what may be called good leadership spans across essentially four stages: First  knowing and leading oneself, followed by leading with others, leading others, to ultimately leading organizations.

Ellen and Claire first met through their involvement with the Women’s Impact Alliance (WIA). A nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women leaders driving social and environmental change worldwide.
